FIRST HAND ACCOUNT OF CEDAR MOUNTAIN BATTLE

The friends of Cedar Mountain Battlefield, to mark the 149th anniversary of the battle, will welcome Gibson Worsham to Culpeper.  Mr. Worsham will present the vivid wartime memoirs of his ancestor John H. Worsham as detailed in his book, “One of Jackson’s Foot Cavalry”.  John H. Worsham kept a diary with one of the most complete, first hand accounts, of the Battle at Cedar Mountain.  This is an historical snapshot through the eyes of a soldier in the midst of a fierce and bloody battle.  Mr. Worsham’s book has been widely quoted by other authors, including our own Virginia Morton in her book “Marching Through Culpeper”.
